Viewing PDF-Formatted Information

At times, this site may have need to access computer-generated output stored in a format known as "PDF." The reason for this is simple … it is an output format common to virtually all computer applications. In order for you to be able to read such output, your computer must have the proper "reader" software installed.

There are several publicly-available computer software packages that perform this function: the most popular is the Adobe Acrobat Reader (distributed free by Adobe).

If your test failed, then you do not have working PDF viewing software on your computer … please perform the following sequence to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader:


  1. It is suggested that you read the following installation instructions prior to performing any parts of the installation.

  4. Click here to connect to the Adobe Web site in another browser window in order to read the software license. If you do not agree to the terms of the license, you should not proceed any further.
  5. Click here to connect to the Adobe Web site in another browser window to begin the download and installation process. The size of the file approaches 10 megabytes so the transmission may take several minutes to complete on a dial-up line.
  6. The actual installation process is now taking place. Follow all prompts on the screen through completion of the process.
  7. Click here once the installation has completed to test your computer's ability to access a sample PDF report in a separate browser window.
  8. You may now wish to go back and delete the single file that was transmitted since it's no longer used or needed.
